Prairie - Masterbuilt
Inspired by the late 19th- and early 20th-century architectural style known as “Prairie School”, Masterbuilt – Prairie represents our tribute to this iconic architectural style and design. Noted for its horizontal lines, symmetry, and use of color to compliment the surrounding landscape, the “Prairie School” style and design (which is also derivative of the Arts and Crafts style as reflected in our prior Masterbuilt) was most identified in the homes and stained glass work of famed architect, Frank Lloyd Wright. These designs were thought to evoke and relate to the wide, flat, treeless expanses of America’s native prairie landscape. To achieve this, a combination of wood and stone was crafted into a solid laminated block and then book-matched to create the symmetrical top which features a combination of Holly, Flame Maple, Yellowheart, Purpleheart, Ebony, and Blue Lapis stone.
Masterbuilt – Prairie also features some of the best materials from our shop including a select Northern Ash body with a Flame Maple tone-block, 9-piece Maple neck (with Purpleheart and Ebony stringers) and a highly figured Birdseye Maple fingerboard. Rounding out the instrument is a set of our proprietary Fodera / Duncan Dual Coil pickups and our 3-band Custom preamp.
