Masterbuilt – Yin Yang Hybrid celebrates two of Fodera’s most iconic artists and friends, Victor Wooten and Anthony Jackson. Not only are these two artists pioneers in their craft, but also in instrument design through our collaborative relationship. It was because of Anthony’s relentless pursuit of sonic perfection that led to the line of Presentation basses and ultimately our patented Hybrid bass design. Additionally, Victor’s line of Yin Yang instruments have become an iconic part of our product line opening up a myriad of creative option and aesthetic combinations for players. The Masterbuilt – Yin Yang Hybrid brings together both of these worlds and combines it into one of our most technically challenging Masterbuilt builds. For tonewoods, this instrument utilizes the same core combination of an Alder body and toneblock matched to a 3pc Red Oak Neck and Ebony fingerboard found in our AJ Presentation II. The top features a hand-carved Holly and Ebony top as used in Victor’s first Yin Yang Deluxe with a single Fodera / Duncan Dual Coil pickup in our AJ position.

Not only does this instrument feature a Holly and Ebony top but also and Holly and Ebony back and back-peghead! To complete the Yin Yang design on the back portion, the black extends into the cutaway with a Holly dot inlayed into the heel. Finally, this instrument features our custom locking Titanium bridge and Hipshot Ultra-light tuners as used on Anthony’s personal bass and features a 4-inch thick completely hollow body with a 36″ scale length and 19.0mm string spacing.
